A quick way to the heart of Lapp Group
A new high-speed tram stop "Lapp Kabel" has been put into operation in Stuttgart
It's happened! On May 13, the official opening of the Lapp Group's "own" tram stop in Stuttgart took place, from where, in fact, the history of the group began more than half a century ago. The name of the new stop, as well as the entire U12 line, is very easy to remember. Please love and use – stop "Lapp Kabel". Thus, the commissioning of the new stop combined the local transport interchange of the Vaihingen-Möhringen business district, where the Lapp Group office is located, with the Stuttgart city tram network. "The expansion of the U12 line is certainly a significant event for our company. For more than 1,200 of our employees, the daily route to the office has become more comfortable and faster. We are very proud of this fact and believe that it will have a positive impact on the image of Lapp Group as a potential employer," Andreas Lapp, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lapp Holding AG, said at the official opening. Speaking about future plans, I would also like to note that a project is currently underway to build a new Lapp European Centre office for 400 employees, the completion of which is scheduled for the end of this year.
Andreas Lapp regards the opening of a new high-speed tram stop as an opportunity to make "his" contribution to the development of the Vaihingen-Möhringen business district, but immediately adds that this is just a drop in the ocean. The transport infrastructure of the quarter is extremely imperfect. On working days, with the exception of lunch time, there are regular traffic jams on the roads. "To expand the tram network, the number of parking spaces and landscaping has been reduced. We need a large-scale plan for the development of transport infrastructure that will facilitate, rather than burden, the life of our business quarter," says Andreas Lapp.
